Transcendental Meditation courses from MIU

ED 101 and ED 102 (undergraduate) or ED 501 and ED 502 (graduate)

The Transcendental Meditation Program: Developing the Total Potential of the Human Brain

The Transcendental Meditation technique is a simple, natural, effortless procedure to develop full human potential and culture experiences of higher states of human consciousness. Extensive research indicates that the individual practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique provides a unique state of deep physiological rest that dissolves accumulated stress and tension while increasing learning ability, intelligence, creativity, and self-actualization; increasing energy and improving health; and enhancing personal relationships.

This course is taught in two parts: ED 101/501 and ED 102/502, and covers the nature of the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique, scientific research, and its applications in individual life and society. Personal instruction in the Transcendental Meditation technique will be included in the ED 101/501 course.

These two one-credit courses are jointly offered by Maharishi International University (MIU) and authorized Transcendental Meditation® centers throughout the USA, including the TM for Women and TM for Nurses programs. The Transcendental Meditation centers provide the personal instruction, and the University provides the distance education components, including videotaped lectures.

The Transcendental Meditation course is a requirement for graduation from any academic program at Maharishi International University, and may be satisfied by taking ED 101, ED 501, MVS 100, or an equivalent course of instruction in the Transcendental Meditation technique.
